It is with enthusiasm and confidence that we would like to welcome you to West Edge Dental.  Our commitment to delivering the best possible care continues to be paramount.  To provide the highest level of protection for everyone, we have implemented all guidelines and recommendations set forth by the Center for Disease Control and the American Dental Association.  We have also opted to invest in state-of-the-art technology proven to reduce airborne particle transmission to a nearly non-existent level.

Here is a summary of important upgrades and updated precautionary measures:

• We have installed the most highly sophisticated medical-grade air filtration systems available throughout our office which disinfect, sterilize, and recirculate the air over 16 times per hour.  These are the same units that the most highly infectious disease wards in hospitals utilize and as of June 1, 2020 we were the only dental office in the greater Puget Sound Area to have invested in this technology.
• The clinical team is now wearing N95 face masks, additional surgical masks over top, hair bonnets, and face shields during aerosol generating procedures.
• The front desk is now protected with plexiglass sneeze guards and hand sanitizer for patient use.
• The office has been modified to be as touch-free as possible. We regret the necessity to remove all hospitality items to reduce contact.  The hydration station, magazines, and decorative items have been removed in the interest of fast and frequent disinfection and sterilization throughout the day.
• We have implemented a COVID-19 risk-assessment questionnaire into our check-in process.  We appreciate you giving us up to date information on any risk factors and symptoms that you may have. In the event of the slightest risk possibility, we will gladly reschedule your appointment at least two weeks later.
• We have always prided ourselves in keeping on-time as evident by our nearly empty ‘waiting room.’ In an extra effort to assure physical distancing, we have modified our schedule so that patients may be immediately brought into the clinical area.  We ask that you arrive no more than 5 minutes early and do not bring companions unless absolutely necessary.

At West Edge Dental we take the intimate connection between oral and systemic health very seriously.  As oral hygiene has recently been linked with the severity and likelihood of COVID-19 transmission we have upgraded our services to include in-house periodontal screening and as an added bonus, HPV testing.  We also now offer dental probiotics and molecular iodine rinse, which are leading industry therapies to achieve the best oral health possible.  We are also routinely running antimicrobial molecular iodine through our water sources.
